Thanks frens for all the info and advice, I’ll look into the drawbar thing you mention, the front bucket has some play from side to side left right just a bit not too much I didn’t like that at first but maybe that’s a good thing then.

The rainfall here has been very low for the last 6 years, last years it’s been probably 12–15 inches the whole year each year, but the quantity of water runoff is very impressive I hope that a deep tilled soil will make water infiltrate the soil I just need enough water for my pastures I’m not ambitioning huge sorghum crop yields or anything like my grandfather got some 40 years ago, since the late 90s droughts are very long and very frequent sadly.

I took a photo of my horses and the dozer I thought I saw a post here about pets and dozers but I coulsnt find where it was

Any advice on how to keep clean the tracks sprockets from branches, sticks, debris, etc? The tracks were where the screeching noises came from I’m assuming it’s the dirt and the sticks I found there the cause, I’ll try cleaning the undercarriage tomorrow and spray some wd40

I uploaded a video of the tracks screeching sound, I’m hoping it’s nothing serious

What I heard is normal dry track noise.
your pictures show the tracks are too tight.
Could you take pictures of the idlers and sprockets on both sides?
I believe that tractor is closer to 1965 than 75.

Does this machine have Hydraulic Track Adjusters?
If you do release pressure on the hydraulic track adjusters - be sure you do so according to the manual of instructions.

I was new to them when my boss told me to unscrew the grease gun fitting to release the pressure. Sure glad a co-worker stopped me. Bullet waiting to be turned loose!

Your rainfall is about what we get here in California in the dry years. I like to see 20" for dryland farming (millet). You are on the right track with rainfall infiltration. We always used to moldboard plow. Discing will work, don't let it crust over between rains, keep that moisture in the bank.

The track noise reminds me of a story a mechanic told me. He had done a FULL overhaul on a CAT: new everything...workers said the new undercarriage was no good and already worn out after xxx hours...come fix tractor please...
Those guys followed strict orders from the other jefe (boss) to pump grease into EVERY fitting daily. That included the track tensioners. Oops...! They prematurely wore the UC out as well as blew one adjuster piston out. Major expense.
My motto has been "too much can be too bad".
Captain Beans: Glad you kept the farm in the family and we are enjoying your posts. Please continue to share. JM

Thanks everyone for the advice! I took some photos of the tracks I agree that the tracks look too tight. I am thinking I can loosen them a bit with the pipe wrenches I bought for adjusting the front bucket I don’t think there is a hydraulic tensioner, I followed your advice and it’s working better now but I haven’t used the front bucket too much I am focusing on the disk for the time being.

Here is a video of the disk in action I wonder if I’m going too fast or too slow in thinking slower is better for the disk I don’t want to cause unnecessary wear and strain on the implement. Any input advice tips etc is greatly appreciated thanks again!

Your tracks are the sealed type so they will be nosier.
The left track looks to be a lot newer that the right one.
You need to address the master pin in the left track.
To adjust tracks the front idler should be slid back about a 1/2 inch from tight.
Loosen the 2 bolts on the idler yoke before you try turning the adjuster screw.
good luck

Hi what’s the deal with the master pin sticking out on right side track and it also looks as though something might be going on with the main bolt that goes through the track tension spring looks like the nut is backed way off?

I looked at your pictures again and noticed that in the next to last of the left side the recoil spring center retaining bolt is sticking out of the housing.
That should be flush with the housing.
This could mean the bolt or the spring is broke.
This is a very DANGEROUS .
I suggest you have someone look at it.

Yes that’s why I said something assuming someone did a hack job and probably welded the adjuster in place as well.
