Tom,
I think John was the one who wanted this info. John lives up north on the I-90 corridor and I live down on the I-80 corridor. Semper Fi John! I am lookng forward to seeing every there next year! I think this may have been already asked, but I'll ask it again. Will there be a way to get name tags with our names and ACMOC usernames on them? I think this will allow us to get to know each other better and sooner. Just my 2 cents worth. Thanks Tom for organizing all of this! Have a great day!

I am doing just part of the organizing. We need lots of help! Anyone in Northern CA that can lend their expertice is welcomed. If any of you from out of the area are going to be available anytime in the month of June and can help before or immeditely following the show, we NEED YOU. We are taking a small show and magnifying it many times over and cleaning out many barns of collectors who are either passed or too old to really do much. We have a great small core group but need more man power.

I will ask George Howard and ACMOC to work on the name tags. They have nice ones already designed and I will ask that they presell them and have them available to pick up with names pre printed at the show.

George, any comments?

Tom and others, what do you think about maybe incorporating a consignment auction into this show? For old Cats and parts.

This event is a once in a lifetime opportunity for Cat collectors worldwide to be congregating. This should mean a huge crowd of bidders, resulting in very good prices for consignors. Plus the Northern CA area has a lot of Cats and parts within a realistic hauling distance of Woodland.

An auction has been discussed. It all comes down to manpower and how many responsible bodies we have to delegate tasks to. We would like to have one if we are properly staffed.

We will be having a meeting of the organizers at the Museum @ 5:30 this Friday evening. If you are a doer and care to help with the show and are up to taking on responsibility and following through, you are welcome. Email me or be @ the Museum for the meeting.

Tom, just reviewed the entire site this afternoon (Saturday, September 15). Am preparing discussions for the ACMOC BOD meeting this coming Monday evening (September 17), and will try to have answers to Willie, etc. I will arrange for name-tags to be designed and furnished by ACMOC. GWH

We had a great organizers meeting at the Heidrick Museum last Thursday evening. Our committee had quickly grown to about 20 with lots of volunteers in reserve. Tasks have been assigned and we are moving forward with great speed.

On the tractor front, I can safely say that we will have in excess of 50 Best and Holt tractors at the show and the liklihood is that we will have many-- many more than that! It is not too far fetched to think that we can have upwards of 75-80 Best and Holts and way too many Cats to count at this point. As I said we had around 130 at Tulare in 2004 and we are confirmed with many more than that right now with tractors being added every day. Can you say 200++++ Best, Holt and Cat crawlers in one place?

One aspect that is gaining lots of attention is our demonstrations involving Best, Holt and Cat harvesters. The restoration team is going full out to complete the early 1900's Holt ground propelled harvester to be pulled by 26 mules. When I was at the George Schaff auction last week and I was telling lots of non-cat collectors about this demonstration, the feeling was that was worth coming across the country just to see this demonstration. We even have an 80 + year old man who in his day was an expert sack sower who will be showing off his skills.

The 110 Best Steamer is now in the Jack Wallace shops for some much needed attention and will be pulling the only known fully restored Best harvester powered by a Best 70-75 engine. If you have never seen this tandem--don't miss this. We will also have Cat, Harris and other Holt harvesters as well. We will have about 25 acres of wheat to cut so there will be lots to see all three days of the show.

I will forward some pictures to Willie to have him post of the Jack Wallace shops where there is presently a tail seat Best 60, Cat 60 and Holt 45 lined up with work being done to all. On the other side of the shop is the Best 110 that Willie posted pictures of last week. An unbelieable site to see.

More later.
