Nice that they (and the brakes) can be accessed without pulling the sprockets. I suspect that if I need to replace my brake linings on my D24U I will not be so lucky.

Rest assured that you will need to pull the final to work on your band.

OM-

My 7J book shows a metallic faced clutch. The assembly number is 2F5461.

They also show an older number 7B749, but it is replaced with 2F5461.

Using the parts book the only candidates for steel discs with attached facing are a 3B662 for the 4G1-8449 and the 8B9188 for 2T8245-9999 and 5T1-up. I suspect an original 8B9188 might be the one being considered here.

My 5t book shows 8B9188 disc assem.
It doesn't say metallic faced but it does show 12 8B3219 segment assem.
Looks like it's standard equipment for the 5t

Those numbers must be coming from an earlier Parts Book edition. My 1963 printing shows nothing but composite disc 4B1969 for 7J1-7J5103.

My book is from 1969. Form UE008770

The pages I posted are from the back of the book in the "Attachments" section.

The "Clutch" section only shows the fiber disc. 4B1969

Ok, I see that in the attachment section of my parts manual.
Apparently there are two metallic face versions.
d2gary, is your clutch disc six segments per side riveted on (part of 8B9188 disc assembly)?
or one disc per side riveted on (part of 2F5801 disc assembly)?
