UK Caterpillar enthusiasts including ACMOC Chapter 2 and LINK club members converged on Folds Farm in the New Forest to attend Alister’s open day.

Alister has a broad collection of Cat machines many of which have worked in the forestry industry judging by the number fitted with heavy towing winches.

A Lend Lease D6 model 2H was fitted with a Hyster Model TR towing winch which was used during WW2 for extracting timber from the New Forest.

Members of Chapter 2 enjoyed the working event organised by The LINK Club over the weekend of 19/20th June.

There were some quite unusual machines working including a self loading 623B scraper.

Chapter 2 members attended the Working event organised by The LINK club on Sat 24 July 2021 at Russel Saywells.

Unfortunately we have some sad news to announce in that former Levertons employee Dick Hughes has sadly passed away. Many UK Cat enthusiasts will have known him from his time as an engineer at Levertons and afterwards from his time running T&H Plant Repair at Moulton Chapel with Scot Thorpe and Cliff Jackson. A lovely man with time for everyone and a very skilled engineer with knowledge second to none. Dick will be sadly missed and our condolences go out to all family and friends.
