Okay so yesterday I went back and took out Injector #1 and took it out of the body and re attached to IP and put a paper plate underneath and there was zero spray it just dripped. Fuel of course was on through governor rack... It did not seem to atomize. I did it multiple times... I went and made sure the injector nozzle was tight... Still did not Atomize... I stopped at #1 as I wanted to see if doing a test with an injector not torqued down would be okay... This tells me either first I am doing it wrong.. Or second their is a problem with the Jerk pump... Please let me know your thoughts...

Again, did not atomize at all just dripped diesel out... Screen on injector nozzle was clear no debris.. They are brand new....

Did you bleed all the air out before running the test?

Yes, at the injector before I bled with primer pump each individual one... Steady stream of fuel no bubbles...

I think it would be best if I add an electric fuel pump to my D9G. Can someone please suggest the correct pump for my application... I am not sure of the fuel supply size tubing. Thanks for your help

Did you replace the spray nozzles with genuine Cat Fuel nozzles?

Okay so since I have taken off the IP now twice and probably thinking at this point should have brought it in to have checked out ie the Jerk pumps... Maybe I should go back and take a video showing what they are doing. Do each one.. This is of course before I yank her for a 3rd time... If I am yanking her for a third time I am bringing her in...

That would indicate the pumps are severally worn or scored. I would have whole inj. pump checked out.

I just did #1 not the remaining 5... That would make sense to me why I probably only have maybe 1 or 2 good jerk pumps... Hence little to no smoke on start up and some black...

I will go back and continue to go down the row and see what I get...

I see the pumps are just bolted in but they have to go in a certain way for timing on the rack...

If I have more then 3 bad pumps is it best to yank the IP or can I replace it in place?

I was just going to mention try some of the other nozzles and check them, heck you can hook all the nozzles up out away from the engine, turn it over and see what they do. Release the compression lever so she spins over fast and have the throttle set half back. Stay away from the spray though if they do work. Show us a video if you can when turning it over.
