Stuck In Hawaii D9G Still Wont start!!! Bad Injection Pump????

. Each pump inside of your injector pump has a specific adjustment. This adjustment is done with the side off of the injection pump. The adjustment is done at the point when that particular pump/cylinder is at TDC. The previous owner said it was always a hard starter. Someone previously may have used the wrong measurement when setting all of the pumps. If the settings are loose then the injector fires late. Causing hard start. The adjustments will get loose with wear also. Did you get my PM? I could talk you through the procedure.

I did not and thank you for your help. I need to verify my general timing on the IP.

In the last two videos, there is a hissing noise as you turn the engine over, that sounds to me like compression passing through stuck valves. Did you crank the engine over with the tappet covers off and see if all the valves are moving?

When I had the Valve covers off I did not see anything specifically stuck or not moving... It all turns over and appears to be free. I will take a video tomorrow to view and make sure. I would think if any valves where stuck it would be on the exhaust side.... The logic is this is where the water entered the engine through turbo down into exhaust inlet side of engine....

If a valve or valves are really stuck they can bend a pushrod also. Look closely for anything unusual, no rocker arm movement, pushrod not moving.

May have to have someone turn it over while checking it. You did have some compression when it was rolling over when switched from start to run but it may be a valve not seating completely to not let it start and make the hissing noise.

I have a remote starter switch and it allows me to be on the opposite side of the starter.
I will video and post so we can all have a look...

I give up. Is anyone watching this that can post a picture out of the serviceman reference book. Adjusting injection pump lifters. Just, maybe a picture will get him to understand what I am saying. Maybe I am not being clear enough, although I offered my phone number in a PM. ADDING ON. George, go back to post #42. In your video from time running 2.40 to 3.30 You are looking at the individual pump lifters. They are right there below the RACK. See the nuts that are adjusted using a 9/16 end wrench??? Look in your serviceman book for how to adjust EACH pumps lift timing.
