Joining or re-joining ACMOC.

Hello All,

As we approach the go-live date for the new website, I would very much like to understand why we have so many users of the BB and website who are not current members.
If everyone who regularly uses and benefits from the expertise shared here were to join at the $40 level, it would go a very long way to putting the club on a firm footing.
After all what does $40 buy these days, certainly not much with the Caterpillar name on it.

I am therefore sincerely asking all those non or lapsed members who use the ACMOC website and BB to tell me, either publicly in this thread of by PM or email (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.), why it is that you are not prepared to support the club by joining.
After all, how do you expect us (the directors) to make sure that we make the best offering to our members, if we have no feedback regarding why members fail to renew their membership or decline to join in the first place ?
Please respond during the next two weeks or so, ideally by the 1st September.

This is a genuine request and I will collate all the replies I receive and report them back (anonymously of course) to both the directors and here on the BB.

Best regards, John

Thank you for replying, I appreciate it.

Is there a particular reason why you prefer to donate rather than become a member ?
On behalf of ACMOC, I would like to thank you for your donations and continuing support.

Replied by juiceman on topic Suggestions?
I’m still current on my membership.
Aside from financial survival of the club, are there any plans for enticing members to go out and hustle people to join up? If there are only 2000 plus paid members and each one signed up a new body that would be great. Gifted memberships seem to be well received.
If we all banded together, we can strengthen the membership. I would like to see this club do more than just survive; I rather see it thrive and flourish! JM

I started that when there was only mailed magazines--so as i explained to Jan i felt the club would be better off with a donation rather than printing and mailing a magazine which has costs

Hi juiceman,
Thank you for responding. I am not aware of any specific plans for existing members to 'hustle' new people to join, but of course, all new members are very welcome however they discovered us. I agree that if only half the membership each recruited one new member that would be a huge help.
I strongly believe that we have 'turned the corner' and are now heading on a positive trajectory, thanks to a team of talented and enthusiastic people on the board.
Thank you for sharing the pictures. Tail seat tractors are very rare in the UK. The fuel tank on the tailseat D2 looks similar to the tank on my R2 (j series).
Best regards, John

Several months ago I attempted to renew my subscription and could not do it. In the last few days I have tried several times to renew and when I do all my selections and then click on shopping basket I get errors and it will not allow me to check out. I start over again and get an error message saying: the user name or email you have chosen already exists, please try another one. I'm certainly not a computer guru but can usually work my way thru these problems. I do want to rejoin but have gotten frustrated, so your post is great timing, so please help because I definately want to rejoin.

Hello Dick,
Immediately after reading your post, I have contacted the relevant people to look into this issue which I was unaware of. Please accept my apologies that the process of renewing your membership was not straightforward, we will sort this out.
It is because of increasing numbers of issues like this that we must make the investment in totally upgrading the website.
I have asked Mary Clark to contact you so you can renew your membership.

Best Regards, John
