Farm ground in NW KS (dryland) taxed at about $8 per acre tillable and about $2 per acre pasture. We sold all our Nebraska land few years back as taxes were $10 per acre for pasture and $26 per acre for tillable.
Ridiculous property taxes in NE.
I insure the old yellow stuff along with the other equipment so it is not that expensive. Hail last year busted out all the front glass in my 112 and the insurance paid for all of it. Cost to cut and replace the glass was over $1200.
Just finished chopping all the corn due to drought and the last field yielded about 1 ton per acre. At least it is clear now. Most of the silage corn made about 9 tons per acre.

Corn in photo should be green this time of year!:sad:

$7,000 per year ($19.17 per day) in the Communist State of California (Santa Cruz County), 11.5 acres, 3,500 sq ft house. 5,000 sq ft if bottom floor was finished (full of my stuff now) plus barn.

Wow, 3500 sq-ft is a huge house... Mine is 860 lol.

If I were to build a 3500 sq-ft home on my 63 acre plot in New York Sate, I would be looking at about $14,000/year in property taxes.

-not a good sight Jim...in our area of BC we lost a lot of grain to the opposite, flooding...but hay crops were outstanding...hard to find a happy medium for us farmers

We'd probably be all of that and maybe more if built today. Built in 1988.

Many of the new large homes in my area are paying 15 to 20k per year in taxes--we are just too close to the rich Hamptons area

There have been several other antique Cat websites over the years that people have went to after they have decided to leave this one. All but one has failed and the one that is left is a site that is invite only and pay to use. It takes a critical mass of people to make a web forum work and that has been one of the failings of the other antique Cat websites is that they never established that critical mass. Why should I go and visit a website that only has one or two posts a month? There is one or two people on here who are quest members that share enough information that I would be willing to pay their memberships to keep that information flowing. I visit most weekdays and might look at one or two posts a day. Most posts I could careless about because they deal with machines later that I collect. I do not post often because most of the time someone else has shared the correct information, if I do not like the information I will post. I also visit one website daily that is a pay to use anything beyond viewing website. I do not pay on that site because reading is good enough for me on that site.
Thanks
Ken

I am guessing the first forum you refer to is the one that i am moderator on .Being a member there guarantees being at the top of the list For any of the many parts projects .
Our other Moderator was good friends with George W Howard .George was an avid photographer and had taken thousands of photos of Holts Bests and Cats at the many shows he attended over the years . George gave him a stick with the photos . These have been sorted and posted in a special area .RIP GWH .
There is a Technical library that actually does have information in it .

I am in the process of talking Joe Black to get ACME Updated . When i enquired , he said he had actually started getting the forum ready for the update .
I have always found ACME to be a friendly bunch of like minded people .
