I thought I had it bad here in the great state of New York USA. Currently about $8/day for my 63 acres, however that will shoot up to about $25/day once I build a house & shop on the site.

HA--it all evens out though---I have 100 acres and a larger house in Ma and the taxes are $4 per day plus personal property tax for my 6 cats,2 tractore and 2 dump trucks is another $40 each year

You have to pay taxes on equipment, or are you talking insurance? I pay about $500/year for insurance on all my equipment, no taxes though.

Some states also tax personal property as in your tractors and major pieces of equipment and tools.

no just taxes---I don't have any insurance on the equipment

I try to avoid posts like these but here I go. I worry about guest members like dewets that have a real issue with the exchange rate between the U.S. dollar and the South African Rand; a $40.00 membership costs about the equivalent of @ $700.00 to them, can some allowance be made?
