Can anybody give me some pointers on the first start up on my pony motor, Also does anybody know what the point gap should be on my magneto ??

The gap should be .014"-.018" Always idle engine to circulate oil and warm cylinder heads, then engage starter pinion increase speed, circulate main engine oil, when pressure is up it then can be switched over on compression, after running on compression for several minutes, depending on temperature, open throttle half to 3/4 and main engine should start, if not close throttle and run on compression longer. After diesel starts idle starting engine and turn off fuel valve then return pinion clutch lever to disengaged position.
