It may not be simple......unfortunately. Some of those parts weren’t really expected to be serviced in the field very often but on the other hand, whether it is done in the dealer shop or on the job, if it was built, it can be taken apart!

D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time:D

Both shafts have to come out anyway to replace the seals.

Hi OM..I understand and have it on my bench and the rod has two shims that are wedged one hold in place the lever and the other holds the mechanism internally to move the piston to the pump... I believe the metal shims need to be removed but how is the question. Lightly tapping on a hammer moves them left to right but I believe they are a wedge it... I put my grips on them but nothing

Those are woodruff keys (half moon) not shims. Taping on one end should cause them to rock to where you can get them removed.

This one is for Old Magnet or anyone else that might know... So the lip seals are replaced and everything back together....I need to reinstall and am concern about the third seal... I bought 3 lip seals and have one left but that does not look correct.... Any idea on the hole where the stand pipe connects to when mounted.... This is the 3 rd seal but not sure of the part #

How far did you take it apart? Up to five seals (o-rings) involved.
The one for the stand pipe directly under the control head is a 8M4990

I only took the steering clutch hydraulic valve out... Total of 5 bolts and inspected the rollers and replaced the 2 lip seals... Thank you for the other seal that is located beneath the stand pipe... I am going to fire her up and see if she is still leaking.... Will let you know...

Rocker boxes both seals replaced, all ripper and tilt cylinders replaced... And odds and ends...

Good day team!!! I just want to update everyone that I ran the old girl Monday got her back going and checked her for those oil leaks heavy ones I was seeing low and behold I did with the help something right!!!! No oil leaks.... The rocker boxes where the problem and let me tell you they where a real bad leak.... Seems like there where 2 problems the gaskets where shot on top of that the bolts where not tighten.....

Now the next fix the transmission and those lip seals.... Everything back together and bam! No leaks now with the transmission... I took out a hose clamp and scraped away some silicone and removed the body and had your help in replacing those lip seals.... Cleaned it all up installed a new gasket and bam no leaks now there too....

Okay so on to the ripper cylinders and tilt cylinders..... A ton of work and repacked all except the tilt myself with all new 4" nuts and bam no more leaks... I mean she is as dry as the dessert on a hot Friday afternoon.... Do you hear what I am saying bone dry..... No more pissing and loosing fluid.....

One last fix the diesel under neath the primary filter had to take that off take the c-clip out and install factory cat washer and bam no more leaking diesel everywhere.... Well its seems like the old girl doesn't now have any gas problems, or other leaky issues to speak of.... Now I know what you are saying wait until a hose bursts.... Well that my friends is easy..... As always thank you for all your help and most important being a part of my adventure with old beastie.... I am beginning to paint her and get her looking correct... All the best and you know I will be in touch with another question......Mahalo.....
