Drain plugs will be on the Bottom. Fill plugs just above the bottom, somewhere.

Yes, fill until oil comes out of the Fill plug holes. Oil capacities will be in the manual, anywhere from a couple quarts to a few gallons. These old things hold LOT'S of oil in MANY different places, just to warn you.

Rollers are greased with a special pump called a "Volume Compressor". Basically, it's just a big grease gun made by Alemite. The "track gun" as they are sometimes called had a chuck to fit onto a special grease fitting called a "button head" fitting. A standard, everyday, ordinary grease gun will also work if you have the special chuck-adapter for the fittings on the rollers. Sometimes people convert the old Cat's to regular Zerk type grease fittings but it takes longer to pump grease through the smaller zerk fittings. There's a link (courtesy of Bumpus) on the For Sale side of the BB for a Volume Compressor that D4 Harry has on Fee-Bay now, if you want to see what one looks like.

My bad, it was posted by Harry Brandt himself (not Bumpus). Look on the For Sale/Wanted page for "I have a few more cat parts on ebay".

If you don't like calling me "SIR", you can call me "your Majesty"

The Alemite "big button" adapter fittings are available from McMaster-Carr, about $40.00 They have a 1/8" female pipe fitting on them so they can be attached to your grease gun. There are two different sizes, so be sure and get the Big Button one.

LCM,
Use a manual lever type grease gun, and you can feel when the bearings or bushings are properly greased.

the reason im asking is how little my clutch moves... here are the pics again!!!

im not touching the clutch pedal yet and the yoke is supposed to go towards the flywheel, in otherwords there is only about 1/2 an inch of movement before it hits the pressure plate!!!

another imporntant thing
the man who replaced the clutch put the wrong throwout bearing in it, it is to narrow... the inside dimater and outside are good it is just too thin so there is motion in the bearing case and on the shaft so the clutch isnt starting to disengage as soon as it should... so i am in need of the throwout bearing... im hoping i can get it from western states(our local CAT dealer and mechanic shop) am i right that the bearing number is 10+009??? thats what it looks like on my copy of the parts manual

You should be able to look through this Parts Manual that you quoted above and see where the fill and drain plugs are. Of course it will not give you capacities of said compartments. You should also be able to look at the Magneto section and figure out which Magneto you have to find the shorting screw/stud for a Kill/Stop wire to connect to.
