should be just to the left of the draw bar, on the bottom of the tranny.

Hi LCM,
scan below shows location of said plug. As stated in the scan above from MARCO10, it says it is under the bevel gear compartment. A bit of a hazy description. It is just to the rear of and, off centre to the drawbar mounting bracket.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

the trans plug for my 22 is directly under the draw bar... not in front of the drawbar... but my question is what is the big plug on top of the transmition for? the one on the side is the fill and the one on the bottom is the drain why is there one on the top?

Hi LCM,
the side plug is for the trans. oil level checking.
The big one on top is for filling thru, using a funnel or pourer can--bit hard to get oil into the trans thru the side plug without a pump and hose/nozzle or similar.

The scanned pic I put up of the trans. drain plug is taken from the rear of the tractor looking forwards.
We can see the final drive filler/level elbows at the top of the pic.
Yes, the plug is partly under the draw bar if it is in the centre position.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

He has operated a couple D4's and D6's with the firestation... so with how excited he has been i am thinking i may be doing maintnence on it for a whole lot longer!!! I HOPE!!!

All the hard work you have put into this tractor, that sounds like good ending to this tractor for now.Hope it all turns out well for you.But no matter what you learned much. Also the members here have showed there generosity with there time and talents again. It has been great to watch this story develop from the sideline as I had no experience to add so my thanks to all that made this a great thread so far.
